The Victor Hugo Papers

Victor Hugo, French novelist and dramatist and author of Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, was born on this day in 1802. The Rylands collection is perhaps the richest Victor Hugo collection outside of France and Belgium, and includes more than 1,200 manuscripts and items of correspondence.
